Information

Join us for a lively online conversation with acclaimed author Mark Greenside, as he presents his long-awaited new book, I Am Finally, Finally French. A beloved past presenter, Mark returns to share the next chapter of his humorous and heartfelt journey as an American navigating life in France. He’ll be interviewed by fellow author and returning guest Janet Hulstrand, author of Demystifying the French, whose own experiences in France promise a dynamic and engaging dialogue.

Mark Greenside has been a civil rights activist, Vietnam War protestor, anti‑draft counselor, VISTA Volunteer, union leader, and college professor. His stories have appeared in the Sun, the Literary Review, Cimarron Review, the Nebraska Review, Beloit Fiction Journal, the New Laurel Review, Crosscurrents, Five Fingers Review, and the Long Story, as well as other journals and magazines, and he is the author of a short story collection, I Saw a Man Hit His Wife; a novella, The Night at the end of the Tunnel, or Isaiah Can You See?; and two previous memoirs about life in France, I’ll Never Be French (no matter what I do), and (not quite) Mastering the Art of French Living. He resides in Alameda, CA, and Brittany, France.

Janet Hulstrand is a writer, editor, writing coach, and teacher of literature, and the author of Demystifying the French and A Long Way from Iowa: From the Heartland to the Heart of France. She is a regular contributor of book reviews, interviews and articles for Bonjour Paris and France Today, and she teaches online classes for Politics and Prose bookstore in Washington DC, mostly involving books about France. She lives in a lovely little village in the Champagne region of France, where she is working on her next memoir.
