Le Rochambeau - juin 2024

Bonjour en ce dernier jour de mai,

Alors que nous attendons tous avec impatience nos calendriers d’été, je voulais rappeler à tous quelques dates avec l’Alliance. Mais d’abord, nous aimerions remercier chaleureusement Sam et Matilda Hill pour avoir organisé un si merveilleux événement du Kentucky Derby. Nous avons eu une grande participation et ce fut un merveilleux après-midi.

Tout d'abord, le 1er juin (demain), notre groupe familial organisera une Fête de Juin de la Famille Française. Et le 10 juin, nous commençons notre deuxième camp d'été annuel en français pour les enfants. La classe est maintenant pleine et fermée, mais si vous souhaitez envoyer vos enfants l'année prochaine, n'hésitez pas à nous le faire savoir. Nous envisageons d’agrandir le camp s’il y a suffisamment d’intérêt.

Le 14 juillet, nous célébrerons la fête nationale à l’Industrial Tap House, à l’extrême ouest de Richmond. Cela devrait être un autre événement amusant et nous avons hâte de voir tout le monde là-bas. Vous pouvez vous inscrire sur notre page Événements.

Le 11 août, notre groupe familial français organisera un autre événement familial. Vous pouvez également vous inscrire à cet événement et à n’importe lequel de nos autres événements sur notre page Événements.

Nos cours de fin printemps-été se termineront dans les prochaines semaines. Nous prendrons des vacances scolaires en juillet et août. Nous reviendrons vers nos membres et nos invités plus tard cet été avec un programme éducatif en français mis à jour pour l'automne.

Enfin, je voudrais rappeler à tous nos membres le site Internet de la Fédération des Alliances Françaises USA et les ressources qui y sont disponibles. En juin, il y a au moins trois événements en ligne qui pourraient vous intéresser, et bien plus encore. Vous pouvez accéder au site ici.

Good morning on this last day of May,

As we all look forward to our summer calendars, I wanted to remind everyone of a few dates with the Alliance. But first, we would like to pass on a big thank-you to Sam and Matilda Hill for hosting such a wonderful Kentucky Derby event. We had a great turnout and it was a wonderful afternoon.

First, on June 1st (tomorrow), our family group will hold a French Family June Fête. And, on June 10th, we start our second annual French summer camp for children. The class is now full and closed, but if you have an interest in sending your children next year, please let us know. We are looking at potentially expanding the camp if there is sufficient interest.

On July 14th we will be celebrating Bastille Day at the Industrial Tap House in Richmond’s far west end. It should be another fun event and we look forward to seeing everyone there. You can register on our Events page.

On August 11th, our French family group will host another Family Event. You can also register for this and any of our other events on our Events page.

Our late Spring summer classes will be ending in the next few weeks. We will be taking a class holiday in July and August. We will be back to our members and guests later this summer with an updated French educational schedule for the fall.

Finally, I would like to remind all our members about the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA web-site and the resources available there.  In June, there are at least three online events that may be of interest to you, as well as much more.  You can reach the site here.
