Le Rochambeau - janvier 2026
Bonne année 2026 de la part de l’Alliance Française de Richmond !
As we reflect on 2025 and look ahead to the new year, we would like to thank our members and friends for their continued support of the Alliance Française of Richmond. This past year was one of growth for our Alliance, and in 2026 we look forward to expanding our programs, events, and classes even further. As always, if you have suggestions or ideas to help our Alliance thrive, we would love to hear from you.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful holiday gathering chez Thomsen. The house was full, the meal was delicious, and we had the pleasure of meeting new friends and sharing lively conversations about all things French. Many thanks again to the Thomsen family for their generous hospitality!
Looking ahead to January, we are excited to host our Galette des Rois Celebration with the French Family Group on January 10th. We will be sharing galettes with the children and practicing our French. More details can be found here.
Also on January 10th, we will hold our in-person French conversation group, hosted by Scott Kohler. This event is open to all levels, and additional information is available at this link.
On Monday, January 12th, the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA will host an online film discussion of It Was Just an Accident with Peter DeBrugge, Chief Film Critic at Variety. Registration details can be found at the following link.
On January 22nd at 4:00 pm, the Federation will also host a special celebratory discussion with Jacques Pépin, who is marking his 90th birthday with events across the United States. You can register for this event here.
On Saturday, January 24th, please join us for an in-person lecture at the Patterson Avenue Richmond Public Library. Professor Chantal Maréchal, retired professor from VCU, will present a fascinating Parisian history of the Seine and its bridges. Registration information is available here.
Finally, on February 14th, we invite you to the Patterson Avenue Public Library for a book discussion of The Trois Amies. More details and registration information can be found here.
As we begin this new year, if you are interested in helping us grow and strengthen the Alliance’s offerings, please let us know. We welcome all forms of support and involvement in this wonderful organization.
That’s all for now. We wish you a joyful and prosperous 2026!
Warm regards,
The Team at Alliance Française of Richmond
