Le Rochambeau - mai 2025

April has been a whirlwind of cultural delights and engaging conversations! On April 12th, we indulged in a sumptuous French Brunch and cooking demonstration at T-Caf Salon, where the ever-talented Chef Nancy mesmerized guests with her expert crêpe-making techniques and an array of exquisite dishes. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the camaraderie made for an unforgettable experience.

Last Saturday, we stepped into the pages of history during an in-person author event that was nothing short of fascinating. Co-authors Gayle Brunelle and Annette Finley-Crosswhite, along with our member and moderator Liz Myers, unraveled the intricate and gripping narrative behind their book, Assassination in Vichy. Gayle joined us virtually from her home in France, while Annette joined the discussion here in Richmond. Their book delves into the shadowy and politically charged assassination of Marx Dormoy, a key figure in the French government during World War II, tracing the echoes of intrigue and tragedy that still linger today.

Looking Ahead: A Summer of Learning and Cultural Enrichment

We’re thrilled to announce that planning is underway for our Summer Adult Language Education Program. A selection of engaging courses will be offered both in-person and virtually, ensuring continued opportunities for learning and connection. Stay tuned—more details will be coming your way in the next few weeks!

Meanwhile, The Children’s French Summer Camp registration is still open! Running during the first two weeks of June, the camp welcomes young learners for one or both sessions, including a special program designed for children with no prior French experience. Discover more here.
