We hope you’re all doing well and gearing up for a fantastic summer! At the Alliance Française of Richmond, we’ve been busy preparing exciting summer programs, including our French summer camp for children and adult education courses. Our summer adult language courses start in a few weeks, so you still have time to register.  You can find more details about our courses and registration details here.

I want to extend un grand merci to Demas Boudreaux, who hosted our May apéro.  We had a great turnout, and the weather was beautiful.  Demas, a former President of Alliance Française of Richmond, regularly hosts wonderful apéros at his historic home, and this year was no exception.  Thank-you Demas!

Our monthly French conversational group is scheduled for June 14th at T-Caf Salon.  If you haven't attended before, this is a relaxed atmosphere to practice your French and meet some new friends.  You can find all the details at our event page here.

On June 18th, historian and author Roger Mummert will host a virtual Federation of Alliances Françaises event, exploring how the École des Beaux-Arts has shaped America's architectural landscape. Looking ahead to July, we’ll be celebrating Bastille Day with a potluck gathering! Our talented member Eliot Norman will perform French-inspired songs, and there may even be a lively sing-along. This is a family-friendly event, so feel free to bring the kids. Join us on Saturday, July 12th, from 5 to 7:30 PM—we are looking forward to seeing you all there! More details can be found here.

On the third Saturday of each month through the summer, St. Albans Catholic Anglican Church will be offering a church service in French.  The first service is on June 21st at 5:30 pm.  You can find more details here.

Lastly, if you have any suggestions for our fall series of French language courses, we’d love to hear them. We’ll be finalizing the curriculum over the summer.
